Stephen has gained a solid reputation over the years as a committed Instructor and coach of high quality to the Individuals who train at Tiga along with a passion for Training in the Martial Arts that covers 25 years.

The Atmosphere at Tiga is second to none when participating in our Martial Arts and Self Defense Curriculum consisting of Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Kuntaw Silat, Western Boxing, Muay Thai offering the Practitioner a multitude of traditional and contemporary Techniques and Training methods to study.

Classes Instructed at Tiga are presented in a spacious well equipped training environment with various apparatus for honing and improving striking skills, power, Body Mechanics, Aerobic, Anaerobic Conditioning through the use of Punch Mitts (Focus Mitts) Thai pads, Body kick Shields, Punch bags, Kali Sticks.

We have a fully matted area for our Members to Use for Grappling, Wrestling, Throwing, Takedowns.
You will also find free Weights, Medicine balls, Yoga Mats integrated in to our warm up, stretching and conditioning program as we understand the vital importance of core stability and strength training to making the body a complete unit.

We also firmly believe that Your training should be centered around making you functional, fit and stress free as you ascertain and achieve your goals with us.


Stephen's Training and Teaching Experience

Western Boxing:

Competed at junior and senior level.

Gained coaches Qualification from the Amateur Boxing Association of England, the Sport’s National governing Body in 1995. Examiner of coaching award presented to Stephen was Terry Edwards, Former Head coach and Number one trainer to the British Olympic Boxing team.


Filipino Kali, Eskrima, Arnis, Kuntaw Silat:

Training since 1993, Authorized to teach since 1997.

Stephen is a Personal Student of Grand Master Aurt Miranda of Kali Istukada and is the official Representative of Kali Istukada within the UK.

Guro Stephen is a Member of the Philippine council of Kali, Arnis and Eskrima Masters with him being recognized as an Authentic and legitimate Instructor of the Filipino Martial Arts by some of the Philippine's top Grand Masters.


Jeet Kune Do:

Training since 1995 in the Art and Philosophy of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. First authorized to teach Jeet Kune Do in 1997.

Representative of Sifu Larry Hartsell's Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Grappling Association in London. Member of the JFJKDGA Instructors Association.

Apart from Stephen Representing Sifu Larry Hartsell's JKD Teachings, he has trained directly in the USA with several first generation Bruce Lee students namely Ted Wong, Daniel Lee, Bob Bremmer. Attended training sessions at the Inosanto Academy U.S.A. with head instructor Guro/Sifu Dan Inosanto.


Muay Thai-National Art of Thailand:

Competitive participation at senior level.

Personally Taught the Art and science of 8 limbs in 1990 by Thai Nationalist Narong Sudsarvat, Louie Yori. Passing on the training methods and training Techniques of Muay Thai the Art to student of Tiga since the year 2000.
